Join us for our Smokey Bear Reading Challenge opening event at the main library in Oakland -  presented by the Garrett County Forestry Board! 

Learn about the history of Smokey Bear and his fire prevention program. Explore how wildfires can be damaging to forests, while prescribed fire is beneficial for forest conservation. Meet Smokey and see some of the tools used by forest rangers in their jobs!
