It’s “Shakespeare season” in Garrett County!

Join us at the Main Library in Oakland for a series of three knitting classes presented and taught by Katrina Wagner. All supplies will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own needles and yarn if you prefer.

Welcome to LEGO Club @ the Library! LEGO Club runs September-May and meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 4:30-5:30 pm. A monthly building theme will be suggested or builders may choose to free-build.

Join us for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities on days when Garrett County Public Schools have an early dismissal for staff development. Registration is required and participants must be age six or older.

Young Readers' Book Club is a book discussion group for children in grades 6 and up. Programs are held on the third Tuesday of every month September through November and January through May.

Join us for SuGO™, the not-so-ancient art of building Sumo Wrestling Robots using Lego Mindstorms. Participants will construct a SuGObot and then test their designs in a knock-down double-elimination SuGO™ tournament.

Celebrate Earth Day with upcycling! Shannon Tomac, fellow community artist, will lead us in making cute reusable bags out of old t-shirts. Please bring your own cotton t-shirt that you don't mind cutting.

Love Pokemon? Come by to show off your cards or bring a deck to play the card game with others. We also are a POGO stop! There will be other small activities and a few snacks as well.

Calling all LEGO lovers! Join the LEGO Club at the Friendsville Library! We meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 4:00-5:00pm. Join us for some free-building fun based on an exciting theme each month or your own creative ideas!

Welcome to STEAM Kids @ the Library! STEAM Kids meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month September-May. Come join us as we explore a variety of activities that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

Join us for our first Teen Book Club! To get started, we will be sharing about books we like and then choose our first book. Small snacks will be provided.

Come to the library for an hour of free building based on a new theme each month. Completed builds may be displayed in the library for others to enjoy. This program is designed for ages 4 and up. 

Registration is not required.

Lego Club is designed for children ages 4 and up and features free building time with lots of building bricks. Children are encouraged to build a creation based on a new theme each month. Staff may display completed builds in the library.

Learn about the Spotted Lanternfly with Karen Wood from the University of Maryland Extension. Kids will hear all about this interesting insect and make their own using 3D pens!
